Wheeler Fishing Has Eyes On State Title

The Wheeler County High School Bass Fishing Team has picked up where they left off last season. In 2023, the WC Fishing Dawgs were #1 in the state for Class A Division II teams. This year, they are shooting to be the #1 team in all classifications of the State Championship.

In the first event of the year at Lake Seminole, the WC Fishing Dawgs earned a Top 10 finish, which automatically qualified them for the State Championship. The Championship will be held on April 20 at Clarks Hill Lake. In their latest tournament, the Dawgs secured another Top 10 finish, placing 6th out of 268 teams. Wheeler team members are Cohen Cravey and Rhett Rodgers. The boat captain is Richard Cravey.
