Josh Beck Named Finalist For Vidalia City Manager

The Vidalia City Council has selected Josh Beck as the sole finalist for the vacant City Manager position.

The Council announced this decision on Monday, April 16, following the official vote to suspend the search for City Manager candidates and name Beck as the sole finalist during a called meeting on Friday, April 12. The public may request to review Beck’s credentials and information for the next two weeks.

“This has been a long process with a review of over 30 candidates expressing interest in the position,” Mayor Doug Roper remarked. “After careful consideration, it was determined that Josh is the best candidate for the position, and we are excited to bring his skill set to the city and broaden his impact on our community. Over his professional career, Josh has accumulated experiences which we think will benefit us all and positively impact the long-term direction of the community we all call home and love.” Beck has served the local area for over a decade as the Executive Director of the Vidalia Housing Authority. The date of the final decision on his hiring as City Manager will be announced at a later date.
