Lady Crusaders Over FPCA

The Robert Toombs Christian Academy Lady Crusaders soccer team graduated 10 seniors last year and have been working hard on and off the pitch to develop a young team this season. With many close contests and a competitive schedule the Lady Crusaders have worked hard to fight for a spot in the post season playoffs. RTCA secured that opportunity last Thursday with a 2-0 Region victory over First Presbyterian Christian Academy from Hinesville.
Senior Bree Wimberly scored early in the second half followed by sophomore Alayna Wimpey. Freshman Maggie Bowers has stepped up and become a huge asset for the crusaders making several big saves during the contest at goalie.
RTCA had to postpone their senior night due to the abundance of rain and uncertain weather conditions. But they plan to recognize their seniors Friday, April 19, at their home game verses cross-county rival Vidalia Heritage Academy. That game will kick off at RTCA at 5:30 p.m. The two teams also played on Monday of this week after presstime. RTCA is currently 2-7 on the season, and they are 2-5 in Region play.
