The Vidalia High School Indians will begin spring football practice on Monday, May 6, at the Charles Wood Field practice facility to prepare for the 2024 football season. The Indians will practice for 10 consecutive days, concluding with the annual spring scrimmage on Friday, May 17, at Buck Cravey Field. Admission is free to the scrimmage, but we will accept donations of bottled water, sports drinks, or biolytes for our players to use during the summer months. A table will be set up near the concession stand to take up the donated items.
“We are delighted to introduce four new additions to our 2024 coaching staff,” said Vidalia Head Coach Rodney Garvin. “These coaches bring a wealth of expertise and dedication, which we believe will significantly contribute to our team's success. We are confident that their presence will elevate our performance to new heights.”
Former Vidalia Indian Sam Collins joins the staff as a line coach. Coach Collins teaches at JRT Middle School in Vidalia. Coach Jas Snead also returns to Vidalia High School after a year away. Coach Snead will coach wide receivers and cornerbacks on defense. Coach Garrett Anderson will join the staff as assistant fullback and linebacker coach. Coach Anderson is finishing his first year in coaching at Brooks County High School. Coach Britt Ingle will also return as the offensive coordinator/ quarterbacksfullbacks coach.
“We have had an exceptional off-season in the weight room, emerging not only physically tougher but also mentally stronger,” Garvin said. “With this newfound strength, we eagerly look forward to stepping onto the grass and challenging ourselves as we prepare for what promises to be a fantastic fall football season. Go Indians!”
