VHS Wins 1st Rivalry Cup

The Vidalia High School Golf Teams combined to win the 1st Annual “Rivalry Cup' held Tuesday of last week at Brazell’s Creek Golf Course in Reidsville.

The inaugural “Ryder Cup” style event came down to a two-hole playoff between the Indian’s Austin Mosley and Toombs County’s Vic Moore after the regular matches ended, with both teams securing five points each.

A large group of fans from both schools gathered to watch the playoff. Both golfers made pars to force a second extra hole, which Mosley won, giving Vidalia the Cup.

For Vidalia, Tucker Reynolds, Andrew Velaquez, Riley Scott, Kendall Bloxham, and Hilary Hankerson all secured a point. And for Toombs, Moore, Clay Conner, Gavin Ward, Charles Barton, and Chanleigh Thursby each secured a point for the Bulldogs.
