TCHS Alum Caleb Hartley Shines at Kennesaw State

Toombs County High School alumnus Caleb Hartley has made his mark in collegiate track and field at Kennesaw State University. Hartley, a Construction Management graduate who earned Magna Cum Laude honors, has not only excelled academically but also distinguished himself as an elite athlete on the national and global stages.
A Journey of Success
Hartley’s collegiate career began with a promising start in 2021, as he secured 6th place in the ASUN Indoor Championships. His prowess continued in the 2021 outdoor season, where he clinched 3rd place in the discus, earning All-Conference honors, and placed 6th in both the shot put and hammer throw events.
The 2022 indoor season saw Hartley elevate his performance, capturing 2nd place in the shot put at the ASUN Championships and earning another All-Conference accolade. During the 2022 outdoor season, he demonstrated consistent excellence, finishing 5th in both the shot put and discus, and 6th in the hammer throw.
Hartley’s upward trajectory continued into the 2023 indoor season, where he secured 3rd place in the shot put at the ASUN Championships, adding yet another All-Conference title to his growing list of accolades.
Dominating the 2024 Season The 2024 season has been particularly outstanding for Hartley. During the indoor season, he achieved 1st place in the shot put at the South Carolina Invitational and emerged victorious in the ASUN Indoor Championships, once again in the shot put. His dominance extended into the outdoor season, where he triumphed in the shot put at the Don McQuery Invitational and the hammer throw at the Crimson Tide Invitational. Hartley capped off his collegiate career by winning 1st place in the shot put at the ASUN Outdoor Championships.
Academic and Athletic Excellence Beyond his athletic achievements, Hartley’s dedication to his studies earned him the honor of graduating Magna Cum Laude in Construction Management. His academic excellence was consistently recognized, as he became a four-time Academic All-American. In 2024, Hartley’s commitment to excellence was further acknowledged when he received the prestigious Wise Owl Award from Kennesaw State University Athletics.
Global Recognition
Hartley’s impressive performances have not gone unnoticed on the global stage. He is currently ranked in the top 200 in the world in the shot put by the World Athletic Rankings, highlighting his status as one of the premier athletes in his discipline. A Legacy of Inspiration
