Tuck to Lead RTCA

The Robert Toombs Christian Academy (RTCA) Board of Directors has selected Scott Tuck to lead the school and succeed Head of School Mike Lothridge.
Lothridge has served in his post since last August, taking over duties from Assistant Head of School Lindsey Moore following the resignation of former Head of School Travis Absher. On Wednesday, June 5, the school announced that Tuck would be assuming the lead role, while Lothridge remains at the school as a Drivers’ Education instructor, golf coach, and advisor to Tuck.
Tuck has vast knowledge and experience in education, as he has been teaching for 27 years, and coached baseball and softball for over a decade. He is a Vidalia native, graduating from continued from page
Vidalia High School before obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Auburn University, a Master’s of Education Degree in Health and Physical Education from Georgia Southern University, and an Education Specialist Degree in Brain-based Teaching and Teacher Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
The educator has also been actively involved at RTCA for 21 years. He married RTCA Class of 1992 graduate Lori Nobles Tuck and the couple has two children: Sarah, who graduated from the school in 2019, and Andrew, who graduated in 2023. Tuck most recently served at the school as a high school science teacher and assistant baseball and softball coach during the past four years.
In the announcement of Tuck’s appointment to the position, the Board shared its belief that the educator’s experience in multiple perspectives of education and commitment to education, faith, and family will be valuable for the school.
Tuck will assume the role immediately, as he works to prepare the institution for the upcoming school year.
