Montgomery County businesses, elected officials, county offices, and more came together this past spring to ensure that the Montgomery County 4-H members were able to attend the annual camp at Rock Eagle.
From March until May, the Montgomery County 4-H Office sold t-shirts to honor both the 4-H program and the county. Upon the announcement of the sale, members of the community jumped at the opportunity to support their youth. “It has been amazing to see so many people in the county come together to support our kids,” Montgomery County 4-H Program Assistant Julie Waller emphasized. “We are so grateful to everyone that supported our kids!”
Participants in the fundraiser included the members of the Montgomery County School System and Montgomery County Board of Education, Montgomery County Courthouse Offices, Montgomery County Tax Commissioner’s Office, Mount Vernon Insurance Company, Mount Vernon Drug Company, City of Mount Vernon, Southern Peach Marketplace, LA Nutrition, and more. During the first week in June, many Montgomery County 4-H members traveled to Rock Eagle for the Cloverleaf 4-H Camp, where they were able to partake in a variety of activities, thanks to the support from their community.
