Celebration

Vidalia will host its annual Independence Day Celebration at Ronnie A. Dixon City Park on Thursday, July 4. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.; live music will begin at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks will kick off at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free. No coolers or pets allowed. The Toombs County Health Department will be hosting a Back to School Clinic to ensure students have needed immunizations and screenings on Wednesday, July 10, from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. The Department is located at 714 Northwest Broad Street in Lyons. For more information, call 1 (855) 473-4374.

Library

The Dr. Mark and Tonya Spivey Public Library will host children’s book author Kimberly Ann Purvis to share her crafts and books with kids, up to age 10, on Saturday, July 13, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Books will be available for purchase; parents are asked to stay with their child.
