The Four Rivers Patriots, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution held its monthly meeting on Thursday night, June 20, 2024, at Chatters Restaurant in Lyons, at 6:00. With President Steve DeWeil presiding, there were 16 in attendance.

After the invocation by Chaplain Emory Fennell and the Pledge to the U.S. Flag and the Pledge to the Sons of the American Revolution, dual member Dess Smith III introduced the speaker for the evening, Compatriot John Derden, who presented his program on 'Frederica, not one man Hurt.' Derden is a member of the Wiregrass Chapter in Swainsboro and is retired from East Georgia State College, where he was the History Professor.

Following the presentation, President DeWeil and the chapter members talked about finding all the Revolutionary War Patriots’ graves that are buried in Toombs and Montgomery counties. After several other items were discussed, President DeWeil called on Chaplain Fennell to say the benediction and lead thegroup in the Sons of the Revolution Recessional.
