Pamela Jean Wilhite Walker, …. Pamela Jean Wilhite Walker, ….

Pamela Jean Wilhite Walker, born April 10, 1945, in Chicago, IL, peacefully passed away on June 1, 2024, in Thousand Oaks, CA. She was the dearest daughter of Eugene Thomas Wilhite and Shirley Edith Shoemaker. Pamela moved to Southern California before her second birthday and grew up as the only daughter among eight siblings.

During her youth, Pamela was active in the 4H Club. She later embarked on a career in banking and also worked with The Flying Tigers and Triple A. It was during her time abroad for work that she met her beloved husband, Felton Snooks Walker, in Japan. They married on June 2, 1972, in Southern California and shared a life filled with adventure and love.

Together, Pamela and Felton lived in Charleston, SC, Pensacola, FL, Southern California, and Henderson, NV. Their union brought them three children: Felton Matthew Walker, Bryan Wilhite Walker, and Mary Katherine Walker. Tragically, Pamela endured the losses of her husband and daughter in 2008.

Pamela was known for her kindness, compassion, and humor. She adored travel, her dogs, and especially her children and most importantly her granddaughter. In her later years, she resided close to her sons’ families, witnessing both of them marry. Bryan married Shenny Yao in 2015, and Matthew married Amy Ericsson in 2022. The greatest joy of her later years was the arrival of her granddaughter, Ailey Yao Walker, in 2016. Pamela cherished every moment with Ailey, creating many memories and fun-filled activities together. They enjoyed a special bond.

Her three dogs, Pumpkin, Don Juan, and Jelly-Bean, were also beloved companions who brought her much joy and comfort. Pamela is survived by her devoted sons Matthew and Bryan Walker, her caring daughters-in-law Amy Walker and Shenny Yao Walker, her adored granddaughter Ailey Yao Walker, and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Pamela will be remembered for her boundless love, unwavering strength, and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind. Her presence in the lives of those she touched will forever be treasured and deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Peterson Family Cemetery, P.O. Box 7, Ailey, Georgia 30410.
