The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announces the promotion of Telfair County native Robert Jordan to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the GBI West Georgia Gang Task Force.

“ASAC Jordan will make a great addition to the Task Force leadership team,” said GBI Director Chris Hosey. “Since he's been at the Bureau, he has been a hard worker and excelled as an investigator. It is that effort that has led him to the position of ASAC with the West Georgia Gang Task Force.”

“ASAC Jordan is an agent who embodies public service, having served the state and our country,” said Investigative Division Director Cynthia Adkins. 'I have every confidence that ASAC Jordan will bring that experience and professionalism to the Task Force. There, his leadership will have a positive impact on the task force personnel and the overall community.”

Jordan began his career with the GBI In November of 2016 and was assigned to the West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office. Earlier in his career, Jordan served in the Army for 17 years and completed two tours in the Middle East. He is also a General P.O.S.T. certified instructor.

Jordan graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Later, he attended Liberty University and received his Master of Arts in Executive Leadership.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is comprised of four divisions: the Georgia Crime Information Center, the Crime Laboratory, the Investigative Division, and the Legal Division. The GBI has over 900 employees and a current budget of $147,482,036.
