Water Cleared After Vidalia Line Issue

mrandolphadvance@gmail.com

The water from several Vidalia streets has been tested and declared not to be contaminated after the water pressure dropped to dangerously low levels on Friday, July 12.

Because of the repair to a main water line on Green Street, residents not only on that street, but also on Mosley Street, Pinecrest Drive, Bay Street, East 5th Street, East 6th Street, and 8th Street, experienced very low water pressure. These individuals were placed under an order to boil all water prior to use for drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food, as a low water pressure can sometimes cause health hazards from backflow and/or back-siphonage of water of unknown quality into the water distribution system.

The order was lifted after 24 hours, as the water was tested and came back to be completely clear with no contamination.
