Missing Teen Found Safe

A missing teenager was found safe and returned to the custody of her parents by the Lyons Police Department on Thursday, July 18.

At around 3:30 a.m. on July 16, Daniel Morales requested that the Lyons Police Department complete a welfare check on his family at his home after realizing his home security cameras had become disconnected while he was at work. Upon the officers’ arrival, they discovered Edlyn Yuliana Botello-Guzman, 17, of Lyons, was missing and began the search for the child.

After sharing a description of Guzman with the public and conducting a thorough investigation, the child was found unharmed on July 18 and was returned to the custody of her parents.

“Thank you to the residents of our community for your cooperation and efforts with assisting us in this juvenile case,” Lyons Police Chief Wesley Walker emphasized.
