Toombs County High School Bass fishing Coach Joey Montford has been named the Georgia Athletic Coaches' Association (GACA) State Bass Fishing Coach of the Year.

Under his exceptional guidance, three Toombs County teams qualified for the State Bass Fishing Tournament this year. The State Bass Tournament was held at Wildwood Park on Lake Clarks Hill. The State Championship saw strong representation from Toombs County High School, with three teams comepteting including AJ Bagy and Clayton Williams, the duo of Gracie Landrum and Carlie Richter, as well as the team of Levy Martin and Drew Woodruff.

Additionally, one of his student-athletes achieved the milestone of signing a college bass fishing scholarship. Landrum signed to fish for Brewton-Parker College.

Congratulations to Coach Montford on this accomplishment. His dedication and expertise continue to inspire the TCHS student-athletes and elevate their bass fishing program to new heights.
