Boys & Girls Club of Toombs County, Inc., was chosen to receive a one-time Kohl’s Shopping Grant of $2,000.00. The organization was assigned to shop at Kohls in Savannah on July 23.
Club Director Marcy Lane comments, “I applied for this grant back in May at the Boys and Girls National Conference and received a congratulation email in June. Twelve club members were selected based on the need and family size. Each child picked 3 school appropriate outfits, a pair of shoes and other accessories. The shopping trip was a great experience for the club members, and it also helped parents financially. I was so proud at how attentive the club kids were in the store and impressed with their interaction with sales associates assisting them in the different departments.”
The Kohl’s Cares Shopping Grant program provides grants to Boys & Girls Clubs of America locations across the country to help club youth get ready for the school year. The program is an extension of Kohl’s national partnership with BGCA, which includes a $10 million commitment over three years to support the delivery of trauma-informed training to staff nationwide.
Kohl’s representatives said, “At Kohl’s, we believe your community is our community, so we strive to make a difference nationwide by providing grants through our Kohl’s Cares Shopping Grant Program. Thank you for the work you do!”
