The Lyons Lions Club is proud to announce the successful repurposing of over 500 pounds of plastic into a new park bench, now installed near the Durden Cabin at Partin Park. This project showcases the Lions Club's commitment to environmental sustainability and its efforts to reduce plastic waste.

So far, the club has collected an impressive 1,000 pounds of plastic. Building on this success, a second bench has been ordered and will soon be installed at Robert Toombs Christian Academy. This achievement would not have been possible without the community's generous support and the dedication and hard work of our Lions and Leo club members.

The Lyons Lions Club invites everyone to participate in the next plastic collection drive in November. Details on donation locations will be shared on the Club's Facebook Page. Join the club in its mission to turn plastic waste into beautiful benches for our community.

Donation Requirements:

All plastic must be clean, dry, and free of residue.

Acceptable Items: Grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, zip-lock bags, cereal bags, case overwraps, pallet wrap, stretch film, and produce bags.

Let's beautify Lyons, Georgia, and reduce plastic waste one bench at a time.
