region victory over the Swainsoboro Tigers on Thursday. Cantwell was in control throughout the game, striking out 10 batters while allowing just four hits and one run over seven innings, with only two walks.

The Bulldogs wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Aniston Powell doubled, driving in a run, followed by a single from Cyleigh Ennis that added another. Ennis continued to make her presence felt, extending the Bulldogs’ lead to 3-0 with a ground out in the top of the third inning.

Ennis was a key contributor in the lineup, finishing the day 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Nora Grace Mercer also had an impact on the basepaths, stealing two bases and putting pressure on the Lady Tigers’ defense.

With this win, the Bulldogs continue their strong start to the season, moving to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in region play. vs. S. Effingham

It was a tough contest for the Lady Bulldogs against South Effingham as part of the Highway 280 Invitational on Saturday at home.

Effingham got on the board in the top of the first inning with two runs to take the early lead. They added another run in the second inning to go ahead 3-0 over TCHS.

Toombs got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning with two runs, but Effingham answered with a run in the top of the fifth. That made the score 4-2. Effingham plated one more run in the top of the sixth inning on the way to a 5-2 victory over TCHS. vs. Jeff Davis

Shay Stringer delivered a masterful performance on Saturday, striking out 15 batters and leading the Toombs County Lady Dawgs to a dominant 4-0 victory over Jeff Davis. Stringer was untouchable in the circle, allowing zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, while not issuing a single walk.

The Bulldogs broke the scoreless tie in the third inning when Aniston Powell singled to drive in the game’s first run. In the bottom of the fourth, Cyleigh Ennis extended the lead with a tworun homer to center field, putting the Bulldogs firmly in control.

Ennis led the offensive charge, going 2-for-2 at the plate and driving in two runs. Powell also contributed with two hits, helping to keep the Bulldogs’ offense moving.

With this victory, the Lady Dawgs continue their strong start to the season. Toombs is now 5-1 on the season. They were at Wheeler County on Monday of this week after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday when they host Metter at 6:00 p.m.
