The Four Rivers Patriots Chapter Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution held their monthly meeting on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Chatters Restaurant in Lyons, at 6:30. With President Steve DeWeil presiding, there were 18 in attendance.

Chaplain Emory Fennell to led the group in the Pledge to the U.S. Flag, the Pledge to the Sons of the American Revolution and the invocation. The speaker for the evening was Veteran Laura Howard. She is from Screven County and her husband, Wayne Howard, is President of the Brier Creek Chapter SAR and is also a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Georgia Army National Guard, serving in the 118th Field Artillery in Savannah.

Laura's presentation was on 'Women’s Contribution to the Military and our Country.” She talked about women who served from the American Revolutionary War through the present-day wars.

President DeWeil then asked Chaplain Emory to lead the group in the SAR Processional and the closing prayer.
