The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Oconee Drug Task Force worked together on Monday, August 19, as they captured alleged narcotics dealer Jim Curry.

Task Force Narcotics agents began investigating Curry after receiving a drug-related complaint in the northern area of the county. After concluding the investigation, the agents and Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies traveled to Curry’s home – located at 1060 Conway McDonald Road – where they found him in possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, cash, and firearms.

In the seizure, authorities collected 26 grams of methamphetamine, 21 grams of Fentanyl, 31 grams of marijuana, and multiple Schedule III narcotics. These drugs are equivalent to a street value of $5,000.

Along with the drugs, officers collected 3 firearms and an additional $2,600 of cash from Curry, which he had received in drug sales.

Curry now faces several charges, including trafficking in Fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule III controlled narcotic with intent to distribute (2 counts), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (3 counts), and possession of a firearm during the commis sion of a crime. He remains in jail without bond.

Sheriff Doug Maybin commented, “Thank you to the Oconee Drug Task Force for their assistance in this case and to all Montgomery County residents who have reported criminal activity in our county. Please call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and report any suspicious activity that is observed within the county.”

A $5,000 VALUE – The total amount of narcotics seized in the drug bust totaled a street value of around $5,000.
