Lady Eagles Fall To Treutlen
The Montgomery County High School Lady Eagles softball team took on Treutlen County last week and played a good game but fell to the Lady Vikings. The Eagles had one big inning that kept them in the game, but it was just not enough to pick up the win.
Treutlen picked up a run in the bottom of the first inning, and then added a run in the second inning to take a 2-0 lead.
MCHS jumped out into the lead in the top of the third inning with six runs. Nora Cartwright had a big hit that drove in two runs as the Eagles took a 6-2 lead over the Vikings. But in the bottom of the frame, the Vikings answered with five more runs as they took the lead back, 7-6.
Treutlen plated another run in the fourth inning, with MCHS adding one in the top of the fifth to make it an 8-7 game. The Vikings added one more in the bottom of the fifth and then another in the sixth inning on the way to a 10-7 victory.
Along with the 2 RBI’s from Cartwright, Makayla Moore had 2 RBI’s and Erin Adams added 2 hits in the game.
This week MCHS faced off with Johnson County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action next week.
