Wheeler Wins Over Taylor

The Bulldogs football team of Wheeler County High School was on the road last Friday night in Butler to take on Taylor County. It was a close game, but Wheeler pulled out the win over the Vikings of Taylor.

Wheeler got on the board first with a touchdown in the first quarter of the game. They did not get the extra point, but they led 6- 0.

The score stayed that way until the third quarter, when the Bulldogs found the endzone for the second time in the game. They added the 2-point conversion to take a 14-0 lead over the Vikings.

Taylor managed to get a field goal in the third quarter to close the lead to 14-3, and then they added a touchdown in the third to pull to within 4, 14-10.

Wheeler held on in the fourth quarter of the game to take the win over Taylor, 14- 10. This week Wheeler is off. They will play the next week against Twiggs County at home at 7:30 p.m.
