On Thursday of last week, the Toombs County High School Cross Country teams traveled to Statesboro to run in the Gator Invitational, hosted by Bulloch County.
The girls finished sixth out of 13 teams, and the boys finished fourth out of 13 teams.
Head Coach Jeremy Moore said, “We finally had a good weather day to run a meet in, and our kids ran well. Juan Luna finished third overall, in a small but tough field. The boys and girls both ran what I feel like would have been season PR’s, but the course was a bit long.
“Overall we had a good day on the course. We are looking forward to the big meet at Jeff Davis next week. This will be a preview of the course for the Sectional Meet we will be running in November to qualify for State, and we should see some really strong times for both sides.”
