Wheeler County Defeats Twiggs

The Wheeler County High School Bulldogs football team rolled over the Cobras of Twiggs County last Friday night in Alamo to pick up their second win of the season.

Wheeler got a big performance from Alvin Ricks on the night as he rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns. He returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown and a fumble 55 yards for another score.

Wheeler jumped out to an early lead in this game as they were on top 14-0 in the first quarter. By halftime, the Bulldogs were on top of the Cobras by the score of 31-0.

In the fourth quarter, the score was 43-0, but Wheeler did allow Twiggs to score two late touchdowns. Wheeler added one more score as they took the win, 49-12.

Wheeler will be on the road this week as they travel to take on Atkinson County on Friday with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
