East Georgia Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) hosted Huddle Up 2024 on Friday of last week at Vidalia Cornerstone Church. Their goal was to empowered their coaches, athletes, and FCA volunteers to be disciples who make disciples. It was a successful event with over 120 disciple-makers being unleashed into the East Georgia Fellowship of Christian Athletes area.
Mary Moon, Area Director of East GA FCA said, 'I can't begin to describe Huddle Up 2024. We thought we might be able to get 50-60 to attend. Then, over 120 signed up and showed up. They are hungry for Truth!”
She added, 'Georgia First Bank was our event sponsor. This would not have happened without their partnership and the other volunteers who helped!'
FCA's ministry strategy is E3 Discipleship: FCA engages relationally with coaches and athletes to build genuine trust, sharing our lives and the Gospel. They strive to connect with coaches and athletes where they are on their spiritual journey.
After cultivating relationships, and once coaches and athletes come to faith in Christ, FCA wants to EQUIP them with Christ-centered training, tools, and ongoing support. They desire to equip them with God’s Word so they can grow in Christ and help others know and grow in Him.
Once equipped, FCA empowers coaches and athletes to help others experience salvation in Jesus, grow in their faith, and share Him with others.
Moon stated, 'Our desire is to Engage, Equip, and Empower coaches and athletes to make disciples who do the same to others. 'Thank you to Georgia First Bank, Scoops Lyons, Dominos of Vidalia, Vidalia Cornerstone Church, Jose Caraballo, Billy Ragan, Bill Meeks, John Smith, Steve Edwards, Heather Mead, Cindy Williams, Ginny Anne Lipscomb, our amazing East GA FCA Leadership Board, our awesome East Georgia Fellowship of Christian Athletes team and teammates, and the dozens of volunteers who made Huddle Up 2024 possible.'
