Vs. EBA

On Tuesday of last week on the road, RTCA picked up a close win over the Lady Spartans of Edmund Burke. RTCA took the early lead with three runs in the top of the first inning, with two of those coming off a big single from Meredith Durden.

RTCA extended their lead in the top of the second inning off a sacrifice bunt from Maddie Joyner to take a 4-0 lead. EBA came back with three runs in the fourth inning and then tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth inning.

But in the top of the seventh inning, a wild pitch led to two runs from RTCA as they took the lead and the win over EBA, 6-4. Durden got the win in the circle for RTCA.

Vs. FPCA

RTCA rolled to an easy win over the Lady Highlanders on Wednesday at home. RTCA jumped out with eight runs in the first inning. They got big hits from Amelia Mercer, Mary Frances Stanely, Braylin Pittman, Alayna Wimpey, and Maddie Joyner on the way to the 8-0 lead.

RTCA added nine more in the second inning with several runs coming off or errors or walks with the bases loaded. That pushed their lead to 17-0. FPCA did score one run in the top of the third inning, but it was not enough as RTCA took the win by the run rule, 171.

Durden threw a no-hitter over those three innings for RTCA with six strikeouts.
