VHA Softball With 1st Win

The Vidalia Heritage Academy Lady Eagles softball team picked up their first win of the season, and the first win in the young program’s history, last week as they defeated Twiggs Academy on Monday. They did lose to the Lancers of Central Fellowship Christian Academy on Tuesday and then David Emanuel Academy on Thursday.

Vs. Twiggs

Twiggs took the lead in the bottom of the first inning with one run, but Heritage came back in the second inning with three runs to take a 3-1 lead. Two errors on Twiggs and a big hit from Savannah Hill scored the three runs for the Lady Eagles.

VHA added a run in the top of the third inning on a single by Miranda Morgan to take a 4-1 lead. Twiggs came back in the bottom of the frame with three runs to tie the game at 4-4, but VHA broke the game open in the top of the fourth inning as they scored nine more runs. That gave them a 13-4 lead.

VHA held to take the win in five innings by the run rule, 13-4. Libby Clark got the win in the circle for VHA with seven strikeouts.

Vs. CFCA

It was a tough game against the Lancers as they took the early lead with five runs in the top of the first inning. VHA got a run in the bottom of the first, but two more from CFCA in the top of the second and one more in the third gave them an 8-1 lead.

CFCA added three more in the fourth inning with Heritage plating two runs in the bottom of the frame. CFCA added a run in the fifth with Heritage scoring two more, and then in the sixth the Lancers scored three runs, with Heritage adding just one to make the final score, 15-6 with Heritage falling.

Vs. DEA

In Stillmore on Thursday, VHA took the lead in the top of the first inning with one run, but DEA scored five in the bottom of the inning to jump in front. DEA added three more in the second inning.

VHA scored two in the third, but DEA plated four in the bottom of the third to take a 12-3 lead. They closed out the game in the fourth inning with three more runs as DEA won the game, 15-3.

This week VHA hosted Twiggs Academy on Tuesday after presstime. They will back in action next week.
