Big Week For TCHS Volleyball

It was a busy week for the Toombs County High School Lady Bulldogs volleyball team as they played Bryan County and Brantley County on Monday, faced Brantley County again on Tuesday, took on Savannah High and Vidalia, and then wrapped up the week against Windsor Forest and McIntosh County Academy. The Lady Bulldogs came out with an impressive five wins in the seven matches as they improved their record to 9-12 overall and 6-4 in Region action. vs. Bryan
On Monday night, the Lady NetDawgs took on Bryan County and Brantley County in a series of challenging volleyball matches.
The Varsity team then faced Bryan County in a tough three-set match. After dropping the first set 21-25, the Lady NetDawgs bounced back to take the second set 25-20, but ultimately fell in the deciding third set 11-15.
Arianna Hill and Alivia Patrick led the team at the net, contributing 7 kills and 5 kills respectively. Maritza Zamorano added 8 assists, with Emma Wright chipping in 5 assists. From the service line, Makayla Brewton recorded 6 service points with 2 aces, while Hill and Wright each added 5 service points. Madison Brown contributed with 4 service points. vs. Brantley
The match against Brantley County was a hard-fought battle. After losing the first set 26-24, the Lady NetDawgs rallied to win the second set 2521 and secured the victory with a 15-12 win in the third set. Madison Brown led from the service line with 10 service points, 2 aces, and a kill, while Elida Cruz added 8 service points and 3 aces. Emma Wright also made an impact with 6 service points, an ace, and 4 assists. Makayla Brewton was a force at the net with 5 blocks, and Arianna Hill contributed 4 kills to round out the team’s efforts. vs. Brantley
It was a frustrating night for the Lady Net-Dawgs in Brantley County, as both JV and Varsity teams came up short. The JV team lost in two straight sets, 25-13 and 25-18.
In the Varsity match, the Lady NetDawgs started strong, winning the first set 25-18. However, they couldn’t hold on to early leads in the following sets. Despite leading in the second set, they ultimately fell 25-19. The third set followed a similar pattern, with the Lady NetDawgs jumping out to an early advantage before losing 15-9. Emma Wright had a standout performance with 9 service points, 4 aces, and 7 assists. Arianna Hill added 7 service points, an ace, a block, and 7 kills. Madison Brown contributed 4 blocks and 4 kills in the effort. vs. Vidalia
The Lady NetDawgs had a strong showing on Thursday night, picking up two key victories. They edged out Vidalia in a thrilling three-set match (26-24, 20-25, 15-13) and then swept Savannah High in straight sets (25-15, 2510).
In the match against Vidalia, Elida Cruz led the way with 12 service points, an ace, and 4 digs. Arianna Hill dominated at the net with 5 kills, while Madison Brown and Alivia Patrick each added 4 kills. Defensively, Gracie Petersen was outstanding with 9 digs, and Emma Wright kept the offense flowing with 8 assists. vs. Savannah Against Savannah High, it was Madison Brown and Elida Cruz who shined from the service line. Brown racked up 8 service points and 5 aces, while Cruz contributed 5 service points and 2 aces, helping the Lady Net-Dawgs close out the night with another win. vs. Windsor
The Lady Bulldogs swept the Lady Knights of Windsor Forest to kick things off on Saturday. TCHS took the first set 2515, and won the second set, 25-7.
Hill led the way for the Bulldogs with 12 kills in the game. Natalie Collins had 9 points off serve in the game for Toombs. vs. McIntosh In the final Region matchup of the regular season for Toombs they faced the Lady Buccaneers of McIntosh. Toombs dominated the match as they picked up the win.
Toombs took the first set 25-7, and then won set 2 with a score of 25-8. Hill was great in service in the matches as 16 points were scored with her on the line. The Bulldogs took part in the Region Tournament this week on Monday, and Tuesday, and if they made it to the finals they will play again on Wednesday.
