We faced some adversity with back-to-back losses last week. The team focused on practice and showed a great response. I'm proud they got down to business tonight and got us back in the win column. Still plenty of work and things to fix in practice, but a good start.'

The Lady Barons Volleyball team traveled to Middle Georgia State University to take on the Knights in a conference game today. Despite having the better overall record, the Lady Barons got swept today, falling to 0-3 in conference play this season. The Lady Barons are still in a position to bounce back and have a successful conference record but will need to learn quickly from their mistakes and bounce back for the remainder of the season. The Knights swept the Lady Barons in three sets, and while all three sets were close, the Lady Barons could not recover.
Coach Obed Quiles spoke after the game and shared how he felt about the team's performance. ' We didn't show up ready to play today. We have to compete better when the sets are close like this. The team played today like they thought the Knights would roll over and just hand them a win without earning it. I hope they take this as a wake-up call for how difficult conference play is. We have to earn every win, and until we start playing with that mentality, we will continue to get beat like we did today.'

While the set was back and forth and both teams traded points, the Lady Barons failed to capitalize on some key opportunities and never took control like they had in the past. The Lady Barons allowed the Knights to jump out to a lead and played the rest of the set, only tying it up at 12 before going down again. Brewton-Parker never managed to get a lead in the first set and ended up losing it 25-21.
