by the need for repairs to equipment, which the company is continuing to work on daily.

As for Altamaha EMC, only 3,107 meters remain without power – a large decrease from the over 21,000 meters which were disconnected by Hurricane Helene. The company and mutual aid units are working throughout its 7 county cover area to reconnect lines as quickly as possible. While working through these efforts, the cooperative reminds people to stay away from downed power lines and to watch out for crews while driving.

Little Ocmulgee EMC has successfully reconnected 96% of its members, totaling as they have restored power to around 12,000 meters. Only 530 members are left to reconnect, as these locations will require repairs to be made before they can be reconnected. The cooperative said that they have been focused solely on reconnecting power and will be traversing the area again soon to pick up any damaged materials, as they told the public to refrain from removing or disposing of transformers, broken poles, wire, and hardware.

Both EMCs encouraged the public to call their local cooperative with any questions or concerns they may have.
