“The linemen are the heroes of the hurricane… wish I could hug each and every one of them-DC.”
“I thought the judge was gonna have to make a public apology. When are we gonna hear from that ?”
“The big V cell phone company scored a big dud, minus zero during the hurricane. Before the storm it was great times, lots of texts, sending and receiving calls, yada, yada. When Helene hit, the service disappeared and stayed gone. We were left with nonexistent or hit or miss communications in a time of critical crisis. For days after the storm, the cell service was virtually useless, no communication. It is interesting that the spammer calls showed up on the cell phones. Big V is another example of a big corporation that is taking advantage of and abusing the citizens of America all for the sake of a dollar.”
“Verizon took the government’s advice and evacuated when the hurricane hit.”
“We are all so grateful for the responders who are helping us get “back to normal,” but this is a confusing time for everyone, especially on the roadways. In the distractions of debris, flashing lights and workers, motorists often simply can’t locate the person directing traffic or don’t understand what that person wants them to do. It helps if directors wear a reflective vest and white or reflective gloves and are very clear with their hand and flashlight directions and make BIG, obvious gestures with their whole arm to get attention. Even when the hands can be seen, it is often difficult to distinguish between a small “come forward” motion and a “stop” motion. And we really do want to cooperate.”
“Changed from Verizon to Vyve at 3 times the price and they guaranteed internet access when all our internets were down. What a joke, the only internet I can get is with my cell phone.”
“Thank you, United States Postal Service for not doing your job again. I have not received my edition of The Advance for August 28 or September 18 or September 25. Today is October 7.”
“It’s a shame when people can’t put politics aside while helping the needy.”
“We all need to thank Elon Musk for bringing StarLink to Georgia and North Carolina so that we can get cell service when our own cell services were out.”
“I would like to give a shout out to GA Farm Bureau of Montgomery County. The morning of our hurricane on Friday I called Farm Bureau in Macon, spoke with a very nice lady, she filed my claim, and on Monday I had an agent here, and a week later I had my check. I thank Farm Bureau and I thank God for getting us all through this.”
“A special thanks to Ginger Morris in Montgomery County for rising above the competition and not politicking and out campaigning while distributing food to the needy. Good job, Ginger.”
