The Vidalia High School Indians football team hosted the Tigers of Swainsboro last Friday night with Swainsboro coming out with the victory.
It was back-and-forth early in the game, but a long run from the Tigers with just under five minutes on the clock got them into the Indians' territory. They broke another long run, this one for 41 yards for the first touchdown of the game. They did miss the extra point, but were on top 6-0.
VHS took the kickoff and started at their 35-yard line. They got a good run from AJ McClendon out to the 50, and then Jackson Berry took it down to the 37. From there the Indians worked the ball down and capped off the drive with a 2-yard run into the end zone by Jamorion Phillips with 10 minutes left in the half. Adam Crutchfield added the extra point to put VHS on top 7-6.
Later in the second quarter with six minutes to go, Berry broke free for a 52yard touchdown run. Crutchfield tacked on the PAT to put the Indians on top 14-6.

Vidalia answered on their next drive as they moved the ball down the field and punched it in from one yard out on a run by Berry. Crutchfield added the extra point to put VHS on top 21-20.
In the fourth quarter with 10 minutes left to play, the Tigers took the lead back on a 12-yard run. They failed on the two-point try, but had the lead over the Indians, 26-21.
