of Appling (Baxley), and the City of Mount Vernon to ensure all animals have the vaccines they need to remain healthy and refrain from spreading disease.

The event also comes shortly after the city of Mount Vernon has enacted an updated animal ordinance, which is designed to help with the growing animal issues within the city limits.

“This is the most animals we have ever seen at a clinic here, so that is very encouraging!” Lucky Dog Rescue Ranch Director Julie Driscoll remarked. “I am glad that the city of Mount Vernon is working to try to help with the growing animal issues in our area, and am grateful we could partner to host this clinic.”

Attendees had the opportunity to receive free vaccines for rabies and other illnesses, as well as discounted microchipping.

“Thank you to those that volunteered your time to help with the clinic – it is so appreciated,” Driscoll added. “Thank you to everyone that showed up and took advantage of this clinic in caring for your pets.”

She stated that this event was an excellent step in working to help the growing animal issues in the area. She also emphasized that resources remain available for low cost spay and neuter programs for pets as well to continue the work to decrease the growing stray animal population within the area.
