At Robert Toombs Christian Academy last week, standout softball pitcher Meredith Durden signed her letter of intent to take her talents to Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. Durden has set records at RTCA for wins and strikeouts over her career. She has over 600 strikeouts for the Lady Crusaders.

Durden stated, 'It is truly an honor to be here today. I have put in a lot of hard work over the years to get to this point. It was great to have my daddy and the rest of my family standing here with me, it is just a happy day for me. I am thankful for my family, coaches and teammates. GMC is close to home and I love the coaches and the atmosphere. I hope to play well and sign somewhere else in the future.”

RTCA Head Coach Brian Fitzgerald said, 'I am super excited for Meredith and her family. We have a relationship that goes back a long time and having her at RTCA has been fantastic. She has helped the team win four Region Championships and a State Championship. Meredith has been a big part of the success that we have had here. She isn't just a great softball player, she is just a great Christian person. Georgia Military is getting a good one. I can't wait to see what Meredith does at GMC.”
