Longtime Business Owner to Lead Lyons Lighted Parade

For over 30 years, Dale Brantley has been a beloved staple in a building in downtown Lyons. With 48 years of experience as a talented stylist, Dale is known not only for her exceptional skill but for her deep love and dedication to the community. She’s the kind of person who always goes the extra mile—whether it’s fixing her clients’ hair or ensuring they always have a parking spot during the busy Real Squeal Festival.
One of the things most people mention about Dale is the way she shows her love for her clients. She’s not just their stylist; she’s a trusted friend and confidante. Many people know her as “their hairstylist,” including our very own mayor’s mother, who is a loyal client. We’ve even watched Dale and the mayor’s mother chat about her new location and upcoming appointments, always with a warm and caring spirit.
Dale’s compassion extends beyond her work in the salon. When one of her “little ladies” passes away, Dale offers to do their hair at no charge — because, as she says, it’s the last thing she can do for them.
Dale has loved and cared for many members of our community, often with generations of families growing up in her salon. In fact, she's had generations of her own family growing up right alongside the salon, creating a legacy of love and care within these walls. Though she’s had to move to a different building due to the storm, rest assured, Lyons will always be her home. Her resilience and unwavering dedication to Lyons make her the perfect example of what it means to be a strong, supportive business owner in our community—especially after the challenges we’ve faced this past year.
As our Grand Marshal for the Merry & Bright Lighted Christmas Parade, Dale is a shining bright example of strength, love, and community spirit. We were thrilled to surprise her by having her whole family attend the parade. Dale was completely shocked, and we were just so thankful to be able to honor her in this special way.
Dale’s steadfast love for Lyons and her continued support of our town are truly inspiring, and we’re proud to have her as a part of our community. Her deep love for Lyons makes her the perfect candidate to lead the Merry & Bright Lyons Parade on December 6 at 6 PM.
