MCHS Basketball Playing Well
The Eagles basketball teams of Montgomery County High School took on Wilkinson County, Johnson County, and Dooly County last week on the hardcourt. The Lady Eagles got their first win of the season as they defeated Wilkinson, while the boys won over Johnson and Dooly. The Lady Eagles are now 1-5 on the season and 0-2 in Region play, with the boys at 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the Region. vs. Wilkinson The Lady Eagles held off the Lady Warriors for their first win of the year. MCHS defeated Wilkinson, 39-34.
In the boys game, things went the other way as the Eagles were beaten by the Warriors. Wilkinson pulled away to take an 81-69, win over MCHS. vs. Johnson
The Lady Eagles lost their game to the Lady Trojans on Friday in Mt. Vernon. MCHS had a tough time getting the offense going as they lost to Johnson, 50-21.
The boys got a close win over the Trojans as they held them off down the stretch. MCHS took the win, 57-54. vs. Dooly
In the girls game against the Lady Bobcats, Dooly was up 11-10 at the end of the first and held an 18-17 lead at halftime. MCHS tied the game at the end of the third quarter at 23-23, but in the fourth Dooly pulled away to win the game, 38-30.
In the boys contest, the Eagles rolled to a win over the Bobcats. MCHS took the win, 75-52, over Dooly.
This week MCHS was at Wilkinson County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday with Metter in town at 6:00 p.m. and then will be at Dooly County on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
