VHS led the game 17-8 after the first quarter and pushed that lead to 3817 by the end of the first half. In the third quarter, the Indians extended their lead to 55-25. VHS went on to win the game, 68-25.
Boys vs. Savannah
The Vidalia High School basketball team secured a convincing 65-51 victory over Savannah Christian in a crucial region matchup. The win boosts the Indians’ record to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in the region, as they continue to make strides in their competitive season.
Leading the charge for Vidalia was senior guard Jayon Coleman, who turned in an outstanding performance, scoring a team-high 25 points. His offensive effort was key in helping the Indians pull away in the second half.
But it wasn’t just Coleman who shined in the victory. Freshman Brycen Burns had a breakout game, scoring 18 points, including an impressive six three-pointers. Burns’ shooting ability from beyond the arc gave Vidalia a significant boost and kept the pressure on Savannah Christian throughout the game.
Girls vs. Tattnall
Lady Indians roll to their 5th victory in a row, led by Senior Point Guard Cori Warner with 15 points on the night. Solid outings for both Hannah Nichols and Jordyn Goings each adding 13 points and 12 points to the team total. Indians took advantage of a Tattnall County team who were without some crucial pieces on the court in their route to victory.
Boys vs. Tattnall
