The Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Toombs County (BGCTC) has announced that Marcy Lane will be the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), starting January 6, 2025. Following an extensive regional search led by the Executive Division of the Boys and Girls Club of America, Lane has been promoted from within the organization, where she most recently served as the Unit Director of the Vidalia Club.

“Marcy is dedicated to enhancing our connections with the communities we serve,” stated Brandi Anthony, BGCTC Board Chair. “In terms of qualifications, passion, and motivation, Marcy Lane is the ideal choice for the next CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Toombs County. She truly embodies the essence of our organization, bringing not only her enthusiasm but also a relentless commitment to ensuring every child in Toombs County flourishes.”

With over seven years of experience in the club and a lifelong commitment to community service, philanthropy, and youth engagement, Marcy is wellprepared for her new role. She previously worked as a Special Education Co-Teacher in the Vidalia City School system for 12 years, served on the MLT Leadership Committee, participated in the school's safety team, and coached middle school basketball. Additionally, she is set to graduate from the Leadership Greater Vidalia Program in 2024.

“I am both humbled and honored to take on the role of CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Toombs County,” expressed Lane. “My vision is to cultivate a safe and inspiring environment where every child has the support, mentorship, and opportunities needed to realize their full potential. I am eager to collaborate with donors, volunteers, our dedicated staff and board of directors, elected officials, businesses, and community organizations to forge a brighter future for our youth.”

Phillip Bryant, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia, based in Macon, Georgia, served as BGCTC’s Interim CEO during the search. He described Lane as a “charismatic and transformative leader capable of connecting with the communities served by BGCTC in ways that celebrate their commonalities while honoring their individuality.”

“Having collaborated with Marcy over the past few months, I have witnessed her exceptional talent for community building and engaging diverse groups in pursuit of a shared goal,” said Bryant. “I can’t envision a more suitable leader for this vital community organization. Her enthusiasm and profound understanding of the community, along with the needs of families and youth in Toombs County, equip her to strengthen the Boys and Girls Clubs of Toombs County while helping its programs and services to grow and adapt.”

Lane will lead a committed team, many of whom have been with BGCTC for several years. The Board expresses gratitude to Phillip Bryant for his service as Interim CEO during this transition, as well as to the entire BGCTC staff for their steadfast support and dedication.
