DJ Wallace, Jamorion Phillips, and Joshtin Troupe all played crucial minutes, contributing to the overall effort. Alton Boles continued his role as the versatile, do-it-all player, making an impact defensively.

VHS jumped out to a 14-7 lead in the first quarter, and by halftime they were on top, 27-19. VHS battled in the continued from page

second half, leading 4034 heading to the fourth, and holding on to win the game, 57-49.

Girls vs. Toombs

It was all Vidalia in the girls’ game on Friday in Lyons. Toombs was able to hold with the Lady Indians in the first quarter and even held a 12-11 lead heading to the second, but that is where everything changed. VHS went on a 16-8 run in the second to hold a 27-20 lead going to halftime.

In the third quarter, VHS continued to pull away and were up 48-28 at the end of the third. Vidalia went on to win the game, 72-34.

Boys vs. Toombs

In a hard-fought rivalry matchup, the Vidalia Indians overcame a tough challenge from Toombs County, winning 50-43 to complete the season sweep of their Region rivals. The Indians, who were on the road, led by as many as 19 points during the game but had to withstand a late push from the Bulldogs to secure the victory.

The game was physical from the start, with both teams showing resilience and making big plays when it mattered most. Vidalia’s defense was a key factor in the win, especially in the second half. Alton Boles, Jamorion Phillips, and DJ Wallace all stepped up with crucial defensive stops down the stretch, preventing Toombs County from gaining any momentum in the final minutes.

On offense, the Indians were led by their sharpshooting and poise in clutch moments. Jayon Coleman played a pivotal role, hitting a crucial three-pointer late in the game to help put the game out of reach for the Bulldogs. His timely shot came at a moment when Toombs County was starting to make a push, effectively sealing the win for Vidalia.

Vidalia was on top 18-15 at the end of the first quarter, but in the second the Bulldogs went ice cold as they scored just 3 points. That gave VHS a big lead heading to halftime that Toombs was not able to overcome. VHS was up, 34-18, at the end of the first half.

Toombs made a comeback in the third quarter as they outscored the Indians, 16-5, which closed the lead to 39-34 going to the fourth. In the fourth, the Indians held on to take the win, 50-43.
