Sheriff Giles emphasized that the very first time he met with his employees in Wheeler County, he established a professional standard within his office which can be related by an acronym: D-WIRED (Do what is right every day.) “That’s all I can ask of myself and my staff,” he said, adding, “I want to improve the relationship with the citizens of the county and the Sheriff’s Office. I want the people of Wheeler County to know that this is their Sheriff’s Office and I want the people to trust their law enforcement. Without a community behind them, no agency can succeed.
