BOY SCOUT TROOP 933 PARTICIPATES IN MLK JR. DAY PARADE – Boy Scout Troop 933 of Vidalia participated in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade in Vidalia for the first time on Monday, January 20. Martin Luther King Jr. was a former member of Boy Scout Troop 151 in Atlanta from ages 11 to 13, as his father Martin Luther King Sr. was the troop’s chartered organization representative. King’s troop met at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where both King and his father served as preachers, which is now part of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. The Scout Shop sells the MLK Day of Service emblem, which is a symbol of Scouting's commitment to community service and Dr. King's legacy.
