Toombs struggled to move the ball as efficiently, registering just seven assists compared to the previous night’s 25. Woodville- Tompkins edged out the Bulldogs in overtime, winning 49-45.
Polke led the way with 16 points and Stanley added 11 in the loss.
Girls vs. Swainsboro
Hill continued her stellar play, racking up another double-double with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Miller, the Region leader in three-pointers made, added 11 points, knocking down three triples. Gardisser was a force on defense and chipped in 9 points, while Brewton added 8 points to round out the scoring.
It was a battle throughout with the game coming down to just one point. Toombs held on to take the win over the Lady Tigers, 55-54.
Boys vs. Swainsboro
Toombs was in control through most of the game, but had to hold off a late charge by the Tigers to take the win. Toombs pulled ahead in the first quarter and were on top, 18-6, at the buzzer. In the second quarter, the Tigers closed the lead to 30-22, but Toombs was still on top.
In the third, the Bulldogs extended their lead to 50-33, but in the fourth, the Tigers went on a run as they outscored Toombs, 24-12. Toombs did hold on and they took the win, 62-57.
Toombs was led by Fletcher with 16 points, with Polke and Bullard scoring 13 points each, and Stanley adding 9 in the win.
The Lady Bulldogs are 4-13 on the year, and they are 3-6 in Region play. The boys are 10-9 on the season, and they are 3-5 in Region play.
This is the final week of the regular season with each team having a slim chance to move into the #4 spot in the Region. On Monday of this week after presstime, the Bulldogs were at Savannah Christian for a Region matchup. They will be back in action in a nonregion game on Thursday at Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m., will host Tattnall County for a nonregion match on Friday at 6:00 p.m., and then will wrap up the week and the season on Saturday in a Region contest at Savannah Country Day at noon.
