Tough Week For Eagles
The Eagles basketball teams of Montgomery County High School took on the Trojans of Telfair County on Thursday and the Vikings of Treutlen County on Saturday of last week. MCHS dropped all four of their games.
Girls vs. Telfair
Telfair was in complete control in this game as they pulled out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. MCHS played better in the second, but they were trailing 30-11 heading to halftime.
In the third, the Lady Trojans pulled away to a 60-16 lead and they went on to defeat MCHS, 7519.
Boys vs. Telfair The boys game as much closer, but the Eagles still came out on the wrong side of the final. Telfair took the win over MCHS, 65-59. vs. Treutlen
It was another tough game for the girls as Treutlen pulled away early and went on to win the game, 50-19.
In the boys' game, the Vikings rolled to a big win over the Eagles. Treutlen won the game, 100-54.
The Lady Eagles are now 2-20 on the season and they are 0-10 in Region. They boys are 5-17 on the year, and they are 3-7 in Region play. This is the final week of the regular season. This week the Eagles will play Toombs County on Thursday, Wheeler County on Friday, and Hawkinsville on Saturday. Each set of games will be played in Mt. Vernon and will begin at 6:00 p.m.
