The Barons gave up five in the fifth and only managed to score three runs in the bottom of the inning. In game two, Tori Wright and Lexi Bradshaw led the scoring for the Barons, each putting two runs on the scoreboard, complemented by Abbey Flowers and Paris Russell, who each chipped in with a run. Lexi Bradshaw drove in two RBIs. Alyssa Usrey, Katelyn Skinner, Hailey Gabrich, and Ayzsa Wooten added an RBI to carry the team to a win.
Natalie O'Neal took the mound as the starting pitcher, pivotal in the day's success. O'Neal threw seven complete, giving up three earned runs.
Head Coach Madison Herrin expressed her satisfaction with the team's performance: 'Our girls showed a lot of fight today. We saw some really good defensive plays today and the whole weekend. It's good to finish with a split to a good Truett McConnell team. ' Coach Herrin's message shows hope for continued improvement throughout the rest of the season.
Looking ahead, the Barons are set to face Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on February 21, in Tifton, hoping to continue their winning ways on this season's journey.
