Arrest Made In Local Burglaries

A Lyons man has been arrested for a string of burglaries that occurred throughout Vidalia on February 6-15.
John Wesley Thompson, 19, of Lyons, is charged with 6 counts of burglary, 3 counts of criminal attempt to commit burglary, 1 count of interference with government property, 2 counts of entering an automobile with intent to commit theft or a felony, 3 counts of financial transaction card fraud, and 1 count of financial transaction card theft.
Thompson is suspected of breaking into several locations, including the Action Pact Senior Center and U.S. Repre senta tive Rick A l l en’s office, both of which are housed in the Vidalia Community Center, as well as the Optim Pain Management Clinic, Vidalia Pediatric Clinic, and the Treehouse Grill.
The Vidalia Police Department stated they were able to quickly make an arrest in the case because of a fast-moving investigation, which allowed them to identify Thompson as a suspect in a short period of time.
