The Toombs County High School golf teams teed off their 2025 season with two competitive outings, starting with the Camden Classic Golf Tournament on February 15, and followed by their home opener against DEA and Jeff Davis High School on Tuesday of last week.
Camden Classic
The Bulldogs traveled to Saint Mary’s to compete in the Camden Classic Golf Tournament at Osprey Cove. The team shot a combined 343, with standout performances from Vick Moore (81) and Drew Woodruff (82). This tournament served as a great early-season test for the Bulldogs as they prepared for their next event.
Home Opener
On Tuesday, Toombs County hosted DEA and Jeff Davis at their home course. The boys team secured the victory in the tri-match with a score of 160, edging out Jeff Davis (166) and DEA (167).
The Bulldogs were led by Clay Conner and Noah Anken, who each posted a score of 39. Additional contributions came from Drew Woodruff and Vick Moore, both shooting 41.
Girls
The Lady Bulldogs battled against Jeff Davis but fell short with a final score of 101 to 110. Leading the way for the girls were Sarah Ellis Walker (52) and Jean Peterson (58).
The Bulldogs headed to Savannah to compete in the Benedictine 1902 Cup at The Landings Golf Course on Monday of this week after presstime. The team looks to continue building momentum as the season progresses.
