Longtime Vidalia realtor Arlene Davis was recently inducted into the Georgia REALTORS (GAR) Hall of Fame during the GAR 2025 Inaugural Legislative Conference in Atlanta.

The GAR Hall of Fame honors Georgia REALTORS who have made extraordinary and distinguished contributions to the real estate profession and the markets in Georgia over a period of at least 30 years. These leaders are captains in the industry as well as champions of the REALTOR organization.

Mrs. Davis said, “I am extremely humbled and honored to receive this award and to be included in the same category as the late Senator Johnny Isaakson, who was also a recipient. I love being a REALTOR and I love this association. I have the greatest job ever helping folks find their American Dream!”

Arlene is a tireless businesswoman and a devoted volunteer within the REALTOR organization.

Licensed since 1993, Arlene Davis became involved in the REALTOR association right away, serving on and chairing virtually every committee for the Altamaha Basin Board of REALTORS, and eventually serving as board president in 1996 and 1997. She launched RE/MAX Vidalia in 1998 with her late business partner, Mayor Ronnie Dixon, and has been affiliated with ERA Southeast Coastal Realty since 2010, where she has earned Circle of Excellence honors every year.

In 2002, after serving on several GAR committees, Arlene began her ascent toward the GAR presidency, where she arrived in 2007. During her tenure as president, Arlene had a vision for growing leaders that has since become one of the most impactful programs in the history of the association, the GAR Leadership Academy. The first class of the GAR leadership academy counted among its graduates two future GAR presidents and a future GAR chief executive officer. Now in it’s 18th year, it is an essential step for any Georgia REALTOR who wishes to serve as a leader in the association.

Arlene’s accolades include the REALTOR of the Year Award for the Altamaha Basin Board in 2003 and for GAR in 2008. She is passionate about the association’s advocacy work and has for years traveled to both the Georgia Capitol in Atlanta and Washington D.C. to advocate on behalf of private property rights and homeownership with the REALTOR association.

In her local community, Arlene has served as Trustee of her church, Cornerstone Methodist, President of Town and Country Garden Club, she serves on the advisory board for People’s Bank in Vidalia, and volunteered with the United Way. In 2024, she helped her community through the devastation left from hurricane Helene, working tirelessly by moving displaced tenants, and donating her resources and time to local charitable organizations.

“Arlene exemplifies the true meaning of leadership in this industry. We, at the Altamaha Basin Board of REALTORS, feel it is an honor to have Arlene as a member of our association. She upholds the integrity of real estate, and Arlene is an asset to GAR. We are so proud of her for her accomplishments and success,” said Deidre Barnett, President, Altamaha Basin Board of REALTORS.

Being inducted into the GAR Hall Of Fame is considered GAR’s highest career honor bestowed upon a member. The Altamaha Basin Board of REALTORS is the local association for the National Association of REALTORS and the Georgia Association of REALTORS . Georgia REALTORS is a voluntary professional association of approximately 47,000 licensed real estate brokers and salespersons engaged in all aspects of the real estate business throughout Georgia. GAR is the leading advocate for the real estate industry in Georgia, committed to protecting private property rights and free enterprise, maintaining ethical and professional standards, and enhancing the public’s awareness and confidence in REALTORS.
