Toombs County High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) member Addisyn Dasher recently placed 4th overall at the Area Agricultural Education Leadership Development Event.

Leadership Development Events (LDEs) are competitions for participating FFA members in grades 7-12. These competitions help these students to cultivate their leadership skills in their interested area, practice critical thinking, develop effective decision-making skills, and learn to communicate effectively.

The Agricultural Education LDE is designed to help students develop, practice, and demonstrate skills in teaching agricultural education. During the competition, Dasher was required to write a detailed lesson plan, prepare materials, and teach a lesson to judges. Dasher taught her lesson on soil particles, and was commended for her excellent planning and engaging lesson, which showcased her dedication and knowledge of agricultural education.

Dasher plans to continue to compete in this LDE and others throughout her remaining years of high school.
