TCHS Golf Playing Well

The Toombs County High School boys golf team turned in a strong performance on Monday of last week at the Byron Ray Invitational, held at Blueberry Plantation in Alma. Then on Saturday they were at the 25th Annual Bearcat Invitational at Bainbridge Country Club.

The Bulldogs finished 6th overall, posting a season-low score of 333, which they then beat on Saturday at their next event.

Leading the way was junior Noah Anken, who shot a steady 79. He was followed closely by Clay Conner with an 80, Drew Woodruff with an 84, and Gavin Ward, who rounded out the scoring with a 90.

Bearcat

The Toombs County Bulldogs men’s golf team turned in an impressive performance at the 25th Annual Bearcat Invitational on Saturday, finishing third with a team score of 326 at the Bainbridge Country Club.

Juniors Drew Woodruff and Clay Conner led the way, each carding a 79 and showing steady play throughout the round. Their consistent efforts helped anchor the team and were key to the Bulldogs’ top-three finish in a competitive field. Fellow juniors Vick Moore and Gavin Ward added solid rounds of 84, rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs. Their contributions highlighted the depth of this year’s squad and reinforced Toombs County’s reputation as a contender on the course.

The Bulldogs were back in action on Tuesday of this week after presstime at the Greg Wolff Invitational hosted at Willow Lake Golf Club in Metter. With momentum on their side, Toombs County looks to continue building on their strong start to the season.
