Vidalia High School Head Cheerleading Coach Ann Michele Toole has been awarded the prestigious Ashley Taube Georgia Cheerleading Coaches Association Coach of the Year. Toole, who has led the Vidalia Cheerleading Program to six State Championships, will be recognized by the coach’s association at the GCCA spring conference Coach of the Year banquet held on March 21 in St. Simons.

“I am truly honored to have been named the Georgia Cheerleading Coaches Association’s Coach of the Year for 2024-25,” Toole said. “This recognition means so much to me, and I am beyond grateful to be part of such an incredible coaching community and organization.

“Coaching has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my life, and I am forever grateful to the athletes, fellow coaches, parents, and supporters who have been part of this journey. This award reflects our relentless pursuit of excellence at Vidalia High School and the commitment, dedication, and passion that our cheer family puts in every day.”

The Georgia Cheerleading Coaches Association was established in 1995 by Ms. Pam Carter. The organization’s purpose is to educate coaches and promote cheerleading in the state of Georgia. The organization recognizes one outstanding coach each year based on five categories: Philosophy of Coaching, Strength of Program, Community Involvement, Professional and Coaching Affiliations, and Letters of Recommendation.

The person chosen as the Georgia Coach of the Year also continues the legacy to CHOOSE HAPPY! This motto was inspired by Ashley Taube, a beloved championship coach, wife, mom, and friend known for her positive outlook on life regardless of what curve balls were thrown her way.
